Monad, radial_symmetry, isopolar, 3-colporate; elliptic in equatorial_view; 3-lobed in polar_view

Dimensions

Polar_Axis = 26-36 µm; Equatorial_Axis = 19-25 µm

Apertures

Three colpora, colpus elliptic, long, and intruding, colpus apex, acute, aperture_membrane psilate, distance between the adjacent colpal apices 7-8 µm, margo undifferentiated, costae_colpi present; Os: elliptic with curved lateral ends, lalongate, oral_costae absent

Exine

Feebly or weakly and finely -striato-reticulate (parallel meridional alignment) tectate, mur ±0.5 µm, lumina <1.0 µm, infratectum columellate, exine thickness at the mid-point of the intercolpium ±2.0 µm

Remark

Nine pollen types have been recognized for Gluta Linn. and Melanorrhoea Wallich. (Anacardiaceae) and G. travancorica is classified under "curtisii" pollen type in Baksi, S.K. (1976)
