Dimensions
Polar_Axis = 29-45 µm; Equatorial_Axis = 27-38 µm
Apertures
Four stephanocolpora, rarely five stephanocolpora; Colpus apparently linear, colpal apex subacute or obtuse, aperture_membrane psilate, distance between the adjacent colpal apices (12.0 & 14.0 µm), margo undifferentiated, costae_colpi present; Os: elliptic with curved lateral ends, lolongate, oral_costae present

Psilate, tectate, infratectum columellate, exine thickness at the mid-point of the intercolpium ±2.0 µm

Ecology and Taxonomy
A large "The Toona tree" common in upper Ghats, often near banks of streams, at about 2000m; in valleys and moist forest localities, up to 1340m. Leaf illustration: Pascal, J-P. & Ramesh, B.R. (1987), fig. 261. Generic and specific (Cedrela toona Roxb.) descriptions in Flora of Madras: pp. 133 & 134 (Gamble, J.S., 1967)
Distribution of Species
India to Australia. Absent from Sri Lanka. Western Ghats: Nilgiris and Anamalai. Eastern Ghats. Fairly common in Ganjam, less so southward; hills of the Deccan, in Karnool
Distribution of Genus
15 spp., Trop. Asia, Australia (Willis, J.C., 1988). Distribution data for 1 species (Cedrela toona Roxb.) in Flora of Madras: pp.133 & 134 (Gamble, J.S., 1967)
