Morphology

Symmetry and Form

Monad, ±radial_symmetry, isopolar, 3-colpororate; spheroidal in equatorial_view; circular in polar_view

Dimensions

Polar_Axis = Equatorial_Axis = 55-64 µm

Apertures

Three-colporora, the colpal part within 5 lacunae interconnected by wide interlacunar gaps, colpus elliptic, colpus apex obtuse. The oral complex within the oral lacuna is differentiated into Os A and Os B; Os A is an ovoid thinning (lolongate); Os B is narrowly elliptic, often having a median constriction (lalongate), oral_costae absent(?)

Exine

Echinulophate and 39 lacunate(Para-ap. 12; Inter-ap. 6, Equatorial 6, Ororal 3, Aboral 6 and Polar 6), spinules on the summit of the externally imperforate bilateral crest-like (triangular in L.S.) tectum; height of spinules: 1.5-1.8 µm, height of lophos: 7.0-8.0 µm, tectal descension: 1.8-2.2 µm, the simple to composite columellae delimiting the angular lacunae are well-fused with the nexine

Remark

A eurypalynous genus (see Vasanthy, G. 1985)

Tentative Pollen Typification

Vernonia type II
