Description
The manuscript is composed of a part of a text containing 52 palm leaves numbered from 104 to 156. The leaves are extremely darkened by infestation of fungus.
The text describes formulation of the following medicines : Miḷaku tailam and Koṭuvēli tailam; Nīlakaṇṭa vālai pataṅkam, and Apraka paṟpam.
It informs on the appropriate medicines for treating diseases :
A decoction for reducing fever (curam);
Medicated oils (tailam) for treating diseases caused by pitta imbalance, haemorrhoids (mūlam), and a disease, patakari, not identified;
Medicated ghī for reducing diarrhea (pēti) and urinary tract infection (vaṟaṭcai mēkam);
An electuary for reducing diabetes Mellitus (nīriḻuvu);
Pills for treating all types of poisons (carva viṣam) and for stopping diarrhoea (pēti);
Ointment (kaḷimpu) and plaster for wounds (puṇ) as well as a calcinated medicine (paṟpam) for treating wounds linked with sinusitis (puṇ purai);
and medicines whose the category is not specified for treating eye diseases (kaṇ paṭalam), colic pain (cūlai), pimples (paru), dysentery (kaḻiccal), scabies (ciraṅku), a vāta disease (kōrai vātam), intestinal tuberculosis (uḷaimāntai) and dysmenorrhoea (cūtaka vāyu); for improving potency (tātu puṣṭiku maruntu) and woman fertility (kaṟppam uṇṭāka) and for relieving constipation (malam veliyēra).

104 முதல் 156 வரை எண் கொண்ட 52 ஓலைகளை உடைய ஒரு நூலின் பகுதியை கொண்டதாகும் இந்த சுவடி.இந்நூல் பூஞ்சையால் பாதிக்க பட்டுள்ளதால் மிகவும் கருமை அடைந்து உள்ளது
இந்நூல் கீழ்கண்ட மருந்து செய்முறைகளை விளக்குகிறது : அவை : மிளகு தைலம் மற்றும் கொடுவேலி தைலம்; நீலகண்ட வாலை பதங்கம் மற்றும் அப்பிரக பற்பம்
இந்நூலில் சில நோய்களுக்கு மருந்தும் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.அவை : சுரத்திற்கு கஷாயம்; மூலம், பாதகரி மற்றும் பித்த நோய்க்கு தைலம்; பேதி, வறட்சை மேகதிற்கு கிருதம்; நீரிழிவுக்கு லேகியம்; சர்வ விஷம் மற்றும் பேதியை நிறுத்த குளிகை; புண்ணுக்கு களிம்பு மற்றும் பிளாஸ்திரி, மற்றும் புண் புரைக்கு ஒரு பற்பம்.மேலும், கீழ்கண்ட நோய் நிலைகளுக்கு மருந்து கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது : கண் படலம், சூலை, பரு, கழிச்சல், சிரங்கு, கோரை வாதம், உளைமாந்தை, சூதக வாயு, தாது புஷ்டி, கர்ப்பம் உண்டாக மருந்து மற்றும் மலம் வெளியேற மருந்து
Extent and Format of Original Material
Size of the manuscript : 20,0cm x 2,8cm. The palm leaves of the text are numbered in Tamil and Arab from 104 to 156; the leaf 142 is missing. The palm leaves are extremely dark due to fungus infestation. The 3st leaves are bitten by rodents.
The manuscript contains 52 palm leaves of 10-12 lines per leaf. It has no wooden boards.
