The manuscript is composed of a text whose the palm leaves are numbered from 33 to 272. The manuscript is in excellent condition.

The text concerns formulations of medicines :

Dried plant powder : Tiripalāti cūraṇam, Tāḷicāti curaṇam and Pāvu curaṇam;

Medicated oils : Mukavāta caṉṉi tailam and Vāta kōṭāli tailam; Elāti eṇṇey, Cantaṉāti eṇṇey, Ciṟṟāmuṭṭi eṇṇey and Pitta caṉṉi eṇṇey;

Medicated ghī : Iñci ney, Tāmarai ney, Rāmapāṇa ney, Cañcīvi ney, Pūcaṇi ney, Cīntil ney, Kūviḷa ney and Tāmarai ney;

Electaries : Taṅka vilvāti lēkiyam;

Wax-like medicine : Kummaṭṭi kuḻampu;

Pills : Raca pūpati kuḷikai, Rāmapāṇa kuḷikai, Kōṭācuṭi kuḷikai, Ātiyaṉanta vairava kuḷikai and Liṅka raca kuḷikai;

Calcinated alcalin medicinal powder : Tāmira paṟpam and Vaṅka paṟpam;

Calcinated red medicinal powder : Navalōka centūram, Pūraṇa cantirōtayam centūram and Tirilōka cintāmaṇi centūram.

Size of the manuscript : 19,0cm x 3,6cm. The palm leaves are numbered from 33 to 272 in Tamil and Arab. The manuscript is in excellent condition; the leaf 97 est broken.

The manuscript contains 463 palm leaves of 12 to 18 lines per leaf. It has no wooden boards.

Custodial History

The manuscript belonged to Mohana Raj's grandfather, Vēlāyutaṉ vaittiyar (1887/1965), a siddha practitioner who was president of the association ATSVS and taught when the college was founded by the association. He paid copyists to write manuscripts borrowed from siddha practitioners and collected some from his peers.
