Description
The manuscript is composed of two texts, incomplete, which deals with nosography. The manuscript is in bad condition and very fragile; numerous palm leaves are broken and very damaged by larvae so that some written lines are missing.
Text 1- The text, written in verses, contains 18 palm leaves numbered from 145 to 163. Entitled Karṇika Nitāṉam; it focuses on ear diseases for which it provides typology and formulation of medicines. The names which are mentioned are : cevi vātam, karṇika timir vātam and karṇika viraṇa vātam; vāyu cūlai, caṉṉi cūlai, retta cūlai, nīr cūlai, māṅkica cūlai and cura cūlai; karṇika caṉṉi, cilvaṭi caṉṉi, nīrvaṭi caṉṉi and vāyu veṭi caṉṉi. A pill for treating ear disease (karṇika nōy) caused by derangement of vāta (vāta rāṭcacaṉ) is also mentioned.
Text 2- The text contains 78 palm leaves numbered from 164 to 244. It concerns diseases affecting children which are described according to their name, typology, and clinical features. The diseases which are specified are those caused by bad evil (tōṣa nōy); types of indigestion : pālar māntam, pōr māntam, tuṭṭu māntam and viṣa māntam; types of eczema : ceṅkarappāṉ and vāta karappāṉ; types of muscular atrophy : vāta kaṇai, pitta kaṇai, cura kaṇai, vāta pitta kaṇai, atti kaṇai, atticura kaṇai, vaṟaṭci kaṇai, vālēntira kaṇai, atti cura kaṇai, veppu kaṇai, vīṅku kaṇai, veḷuppu kaṇai, retta kaṇai, uḷḷu rōka kaṇai, makēntira kaṇai, kuṭal cōkai kaṇai, ūtu kaṇai, karappāṉ kaṇai, vāyvu kaṇai, virtti kaṇai, mānta kaṇai and kentavāḷi kaṇai; intestinal worms : macaṟi nōy; and jaundice : mañcal kuṇam.

முழுமை இல்லா இரண்டு நூல்களை உடைய இந்த சுவடி நோய்கள், அதன் வகைகள், குறிகுணங்கள் பற்றி விளக்குகிறது.இந்த சுவடி மிகவும் மோசமான நிலையில் உள்ளது, எளிதில் உடைய கூடியதாகவும் உள்ளது.நிறைய ஓலைகள் உடைந்தும் பூச்சியால் சில வரிகள் அல்லது வார்த்தைகள் பாதிக்கப்பட்டும் உள்ளது.
நூல் 1- 145 முதல் 163 வரை எண் கொண்ட ஓலைகளை உடைய இந்நூல் விருத்தம் வடிவில் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளது.கர்ணிக நிதானம் என்ற தலைப்புடைய இந்த நூல், காது நோய்கள் அவற்றின் வகைகள் மற்றும் மருந்து செய்முறைகள் பற்றி கூறுகிறது.காது நோயின் வகைகளாக இந்நூலில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது : செவி வாதம், கர்ணிக திமிர் வாதம் மற்றும் கர்ணிக விரண வாதம்; வாயு சூலை, சன்னி சூலை, ரெத்த சூலை, நீர் சூலை, மாங்கிச சூலை மற்றும் சுர சூலை; கர்ணிக சன்னி, சில்வடி சன்னி, நீர்வடி சன்னி மற்றும் வாயு வெடி சன்னி.வாத ராட்சசன் குளிகை செய்முறை விளக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
நூல் 2- 164 முதல் 244 வரை எண் கொண்ட 78 ஓலைகளை உடையது இந்நூல்.இந்நூல் குழந்தைகளுக்கு ஏற்படும் நோய்கள், அதன் வகைகள் மற்றும் குறிகுணம் பற்றி விளக்குகிறது.இந்நூலில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ள நோய்களின் வகைகள் : தோஷ நோய்; மாந்த நோய்கள் : பாலர் மாந்தம், துட்டு மாந்தம், போர் மாந்தம் மற்றும் விஷ மாந்தம்; கரப்பான் நோய்கள் : செங்கரப்பான் மற்றும் வாத கரப்பான்; கணை நோய்கள் : வாத கணை, பித்த கணை, சுர கணை, வாத பித்த கணை, அத்தி கணை, அத்தி சுர கணை, வறட்சி கணை, வாலேந்திர கணை, வெப்பு கணை, வீங்கு கணை, வெளுப்பு கணை, ரெத்த கணை, உள்ளு ரோக கணை, மகேந்திர கணை, குடல் சோகை கணை, ஊது கணை, கரப்பான் கணை, வாய்வு கணை, விர்த்தி கணை, மாந்த கணை மற்றும் கெந்தவாளி கணை; மசறி நோய் மற்றும் மஞ்சள் நோய் ஆகும்
Extent and Format of Original Material
Size of the manuscript : 30,0cm x 3,8cm. The palm leaves are numbered from 1 to 244 in Tamil and Arab. The leaf 165 is missing and there is confusion in numbering from the leaf 242 with several leaves with the same number. There are eight additional leaves placed at the end, among them six are blank and two with notes and title belonging to other manuscripts. The manuscript is in extremely bad condition and very breakable. Numerous leaves are broken and some have scripts damaged by insects' egg strings.
The manuscript contains 106 palm leaves of 16 lines per leaf, with two wooden boards.

The manuscript belonged to Mohana Raj's grandfather, Vēlāyutaṉ vaittiyar (1887/1965), a siddha practitioner who was president of the association ATSVS and taught when the college was founded by the association. He paid copyists to write manuscripts borrowed from siddha practitioners and collected some from his peers.
