Description
The manuscript is composed of a text made of palm leaves numbered from 1 to 6; it is incomplete. It is in good condition. However, the leaves are very twisted and weakened by fungus infestation.
The text, entitled Piraḷi Nitāṉam, is written in verses in Malayalam. It concerns fits or convulsions called piraḷi for which it describes the types : vāyu piraḷi, akkiṉi piraḷi, paccai piraḷi, cura piraḷi, nīr piraḷi, tuṭṭu piraḷi, muṟukku piraḷi, viṣa piraḷi, tonta piraḷi, cuvāca kāca piraḷi, aticāra piraḷi, vimalakaṅṭa piraḷi, mañcaḷ piraḷi and iḻaippu piraḷi.

1 முதல் 6 வரை எண் கொண்ட ஓலைகளை உடைய ஒரு நூலை கொண்டது இந்த சுவடி; இது முழுமை இல்லாதது.இது நல்ல நிலையில் உள்ளது.எனினும் இதன் ஓலைகள் முறிக்கியும் பூஞ்சை பாதிப்பால் பலகீனமாகவும் உள்ளது.
பிரளி நிதானம் என்னும் தலைப்புடைய இந்த நூல் மலையாள மொழியில் விருத்தம் வடிவில் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளது.இந்நூல் பிரளி அல்லது வலிப்பு நோயை பற்றி விளக்கி அதன் வகைகளை விளக்குகிறது : வாயு பிரளி, அக்கினி பிரளி, பச்சை பிரளி, சுர பிரளி, நீர் பிரளி, துட்டு பிரளி, முறுக்கு பிரளி, விஷ பிரளி, தொந்த பிரளி, சுவாச காச பிரளி, அதிசார பிரளி, விமலகண்ட பிரளி, மஞ்சள் பிரளி மற்றும் இளைப்பு பிரளி
Extent and Format of Original Material
Size of the manuscript : 45,0cm x 3,7cm. The palm leaves of the text are numbered from 1 to 6 in Tamil and Arab. The manuscript is in good condition. However, the leaves are weakened and darkened by fungus infestation. They are very twisted.
The manuscript contains 6 palm leaves of 12 lines per leaf. It has no wooden boards.

Custodial History
The manuscript belonged to Mohana Raj's grandfather, Vēlāyutaṉ vaittiyar (1887/1965), a siddha practitioner who was president of the association ATSVS and taught when the college was founded by the association. He paid copyists to write manuscripts borrowed from siddha practitioners and collected some from his peers.
