Description
The manuscript is composed of a text whose 38 palm leaves are numbered between 1 and 111. The manuscript is in good condition despite its leaves are very darkened by fungus infestation. Some leaves are broken but with on impact on the reading of the text.
The text, written in verses, presents preparations of medicines which are :
Dry plant powders : Caruvāṅka cūraṇam and Iñci cūraṇam.
Medicated oils : Cemmuḷḷi tailam, Cāraṇai tailam and Poṉāṉkāṇi tailam.
A medicated ghī (ney) for treating cough (irumal).
Electuary : Cāraṇāti lēkiyam and a lēkiyam for treating gastritis (kuṉmam).
Pills : Kaṭṭuvāti māttirai.
Calcined white medicines from metals and minerals : Tāmira paṟpam, Cūta paṟpam, Raca paṟpam and Kantaka paṟpa.
Stone-like medicine : Liṅka kaṭṭu.
A baked medicine (piṭṭu) for treating diseases caused by imbalance of kapam.
Medicines (maruntu; not named) for treating intestinal worms (kīripūcci), itching during pregnancy (kerpa ūṟal), diseases caused by imbalance of pittam, scrotal swelling caused by imbalance of vātam (virai vātam), irritation due to colic pain (cūlai kaṭuppu), a disease caused by imbalance of vātam (aṇal vātam), non-healing ulcers (ārāta puṇ) and impotence in males (tātu puṣṭi).
A medicine obtained by sublimation : Paraṅkipaṭṭai pataṅkam.
A distillate : Pañcalavaṉa ceyanīr
The text explains the process to purify some raw materials, specifically Shorea robusta (kukkil). It describes the clinical features of delirium (caṉṉi). It informs on the state of pulse in fatal condition (pūta nāṭi naṭai).

1 முதல் 111 க்குள் எண் கொண்ட 38 ஓலைகளை கொண்ட ஒரு நூலை உடையது இந்த சுவடி.இதன் ஓலைகள் பூஞ்சையால் மிகவும் கருமை நிறம் அடைந்து இருந்தாலும் இந்த சுவடி நல்ல நிலையில் உள்ளதாகும்.சில ஓலைகள் உடைந்து உள்ளன இருப்பினும் படிப்பது பாதிக்கப்படவில்லை
விருத்தம் வடிவில் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ள இந்த நூல் மருந்து செய்முறைகளை பற்றி விளக்குகிறது, அவை :
சூரணம் : சருவாங்க சூரணம் மற்றும் இஞ்சி சூரணம்.
தைலம் : செம்முள்ளி தைலம், சாரணை தைலம் மற்றும் பொன்னாங்கண்ணி தைலம்
இருமலுக்கு நெய்
லேகியம் : சாரணாதி லேகியம் மற்றும் குன்மத்துக்கு லேகியம்
மாத்திரை : கட்டுவாதி மாத்திரை
பற்பம் : தாமிர பற்பம், சூத்த பற்பம், ரச பற்பம் மற்றும் கந்தக பற்பம்.
கட்டு : லிங்க கட்டு.
கப நோய்க்கு பிட்டு
கீரிப்பூச்சி, கெர்ப ஊறல்,விரை வாதம், சூலை கடுப்பு, அனல் வாதம், ஆறாத புண் மற்றும் தாது புஷ்டி போன்ற நிலைகளுக்கு பெயர் குறிப்பிடப்படாத மருந்துகள் செய்முறைகள் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளன.

Extent and Format of Original Material
Size of the manuscript : 25.5cm x 3.2cm. The text contains 38 palm leaves numbered between 1 and 111 in Tamil and Arab, and two blank leaves placed at the beginning and at the end of the text. The manuscript is in good condition despite its leaves are very darkened by fungus infestation. Some leaves are broken but with no impact on the reading of the text.
The manuscript contains 40 palm leaves. The number of lines is very variables, from 10 to 12 lines per leaf. It has no wooden boards.
