Description
The manuscript is composed of a text of 19 palm leaves numbered between 1 and 148. The manuscript is in bad condition; the leaves are darkened, some are very damaged by larvae or are broken.
The text, entitled Uppu Kaṭṭu, is written in verses. The text describes about yoga practice and formulation of complex medicines. The first part of the text describes the practice of breathing (vāciyōkam). The second part explains formulations of Kantaka kuru, Ceyanīr, Nāka centūram, Nimiḷai cuṇṇam, Veḷḷai cuṇṇam, Cuṇṇa cār (slaked lime), as well as Kaṭuku cuṇṇa aṇṭa nīr and its uses. It describes the process to purify mercury (raca cutti) and to obtain pure mercury (toṭuppu racam) by sublimation. Additionally, the text mentions the agonist (catru) and antagonist (mitru) of metals (ulōkam).

1 முதல் 148 வரை எண் கொண்ட 19 ஓலைகளை கொண்ட ஒரு நூலை கொண்டது இந்த சுவடி.இது மோசமான நிலையில் உள்ளது; ஓலைகள் கருமை அடைந்தும், சில ஓலைகள் பூச்சியால் மிகவும் சேதம் அடைந்தும், சில உடைந்தும் உள்ளன.
உப்பு கட்டு என்னும் இந்நூல் விருத்தம் வடிவில் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளதாகும்.இந்நூல் யோகம் மற்றும் பெரு மருந்துகளின் செய்முறை பற்றி விளக்குகிறது.இந்நூலின் முதல் பகுதி வாசியோகத்தை பற்றி விளக்குகிறது.இரண்டாம் பகுதி கந்தக குரு, செயநீர், நாக செந்தூரம், நிமிளை சுண்ணம், வெள்ளை சுண்ணம், சுண்ண சார் போன்ற மருந்து செய்முறைகளையும், கடுகு சுண்ண அண்ட நீர் மற்றும் அதன் போக்கு பற்றியும் விளக்குகிறது.மேலும் இந்நூல் ரச சுத்தி மற்றும் தொடுப்பு ரசம் பற்றியும் விளக்குகிறது.கூடுதலாக உலோகத்தின் சத்ரு, மித்ரு சரக்குகளை பற்றி கூறுகிறது.
Extent and Format of Original Material
Size of the manuscript : 40,0cm x 3,4cm. The palm leaves are numbered from 1 to 148, those which are present are : 1, 3, 4, 6, 10 to 13, 15 to 18, 20 to 23, 126 and 148. The manuscript is in average condition; the leaves are darkened, some are very damaged by larvae and many are partly broken.
The manuscript contains 19 leaves of 14 to 16 lines each. The manuscript has no wood boards.
