The collection of Mohana_ is composed of two series : KK_ (Kanniyakumari dt) and VN_ (Virudhu Nagar). The series KK_ comprises 121 manuscripts (files MSS_) and 11 items (files Item_); the series VN_ comprises 3 manuscripts (files MSS_).

Custodial History
The collection of manuscripts and items was constituted by Mohana Raj's grandfather and father (deceased) and by Mohana Raj, all siddha practitioners and president of the association ATSVS. The manuscripts were collected from the Siddha practitioners of the Kanniyakumari district. Mohana Raj's grandfather paid copyists to write manuscripts borrowed from his peers. During the four last decades, the family transmission of Siddha medical practice has drastically decreased caused by the government policy towards siddha practitioners trained traditionally. Due to lack of interest of their children, some practitioners preferred to give their manuscripts when they had the opportunity.
