The collection belongs to Dr. Suneel Krishnan (ayurvedic practitioner at Karaikuti, Sivagangai district) and R. Subramaniam (traditional siddha practitioner at Arimalam, Pudukottai). They inherited them from their ancestors who collected manuscripts, copied some of them, and wrote new ones in which they shared their medical experience.
