Śaivāgama - Prakīrṇaviṣaya

Copied from a MS belonging to J. Visvanathasivacharyar, Melamankalam, Madurai Dt. There are 3 extra pages at the beginning, which record the title, contents and a note (written by the scribe in English) respectively. The note reads: śaivāgamaprakīrṇaviṣayāḥ, "The palm leaf manuscript belongs to śrī P. Viśvanātha śivācārya, Melamangalam, Madurai district. It has a measurement of 44 cṃ in length and 4 cṃ in width. There are 199 leaves in the manuscript, not numbered continuously but done in bits of 123, 4, 27, 9, 20 and 16 leaves. There are six lines per page on an average. The writing is in grantha script, good and normal. The transcript copy extends to 463 pages. The book contains miscellaneous matters pertaining to śivāgama. It begins with the practical procedure in daily worships (nitya-pūjā-sidhi-prayogaḥ). Then comes in the rules of daily worship or nityārcanavidhi, taken from sakalāgama-sāra-saṅgraha. Other kindred matters like mahāṣoḍhānyāsa, lalitāsahasranāmārcana etc. follow. The nityapūjāvidhiprayoga dealt with in this book is considerably good.
