Copied from a MS belonging to the Adyar Library, Madras, No. 73867. The text appears to be one of applied astrology, most of it being about the birth of children. Much of the text takes the form of a discussion between "Siva and Pārvatī, which is reflected in a number of the colophons, in that they begin iti santānadīpikāyām umāmaheśvarasaṃvāde jātakaratnākare.... The colophon to the 182nd chapter (mārjarahananaprāyaścittavidhi) falls on p. 46, and the text that follows thereafter appears to break off before reaching a colophon. A number of the sections in the middle of the manuscript do not have colophons that explicitly assign them to the santānadīpikā, and it may be that they do not belong to it. There is an extra page at the beginning of the text that contains the list of the contents
