This transcript is copied from a MS belonging to the Tanjore Maharajah Serfoji Saraswati Mahal Library, Tanjore, No. 9755 &11180. There are two bunches in this bundle and each has been paginated separately (8+72=80). There are two extra pages at the beginning of each bunch, which record the title of the text and the number of the manuscript from which that is copied. Page No. 8 contains only one verse regarding ṣoḍaśaśṛṅgāra, which seems to be out of context. The two bunches have been treated as two texts: the first, T 1089a, begins in fact with the first adhyāya of the gayāyātra, attributed to the vāyupurāṇa (colophon on p. 5), but the final colophon is that of a prayāgamāhātmya attributed to the pādmapurāṇa

Page - 1, l - 1; śrīvāsudevāya namaḥ ॥ sanatkumāra uvāca । gayāyātrāṃ pravakṣyāmi śṛṇu nārada yatnataḥ । nivṛttisviha kartṛṇāṃ brahmaṇā gīyate purā । brahmajñānaṃ gayāśrāddhaṃ gograhe maraṇaṃ tathā ॥ vāsaḥ puṃsāṃ kurukṣetre muktireṣā caturvidhā । brahmajñānena kiṃkāryaṃ gograhe maraṇena kiṃ ।
