Miscellaneous Notes
This Ms. deals with the observances undertaken at the commencement of the mahotsava of śiva. Dances and musical times (tāla), relating to Gaṇapati and vṛṣabha, are dealt with beginning. The deities are invited to participate in the festival. This is called devatāvāhana. The presence of the deities is the requested. This is called sandhyāvāhana. Besides, invocations for these deities are made in the form of cūrṇikā (also read as cūrṇaka), a form of prose with compounds sparingly used. Aghoraśivācārya's mahotsavavidhi deals with these topics.
