This text describes the installation and festival of skanda as part of the installation of five deities, viz., vināyaka, skanda, 'siva, durgā and viṣṇu in a single garbhagṛha. According to the colophon this text forms part of the svāyambhuvāgama. But it is not found in the T.Mss. of this āgama in IFP. Fly-leaf "b" and 1Bb are blank. Fols. [1Aa], bhūtabalipīṭhalakṣaṇa; fol. [1Ab], kumārasvāmidhyāna; fol. [1Ba] has āvartapurīśvaradhyāna and a reference to the date of installation of the flag-post, peacock-mount and balipīṭha for palani kumārasvāmī by ciṉṉaiyāvācikkuttālapaṭṭar viz. vibhava varu. tai mā. 25 śukravāram (21st, January, 1569 or 5th, February, 1869)

pañcagocarapratiṣṭhai। pañcagocaramūrtes tu cārcanaṃ vakṣyate'dhunā। āyuḥpradaṃ ca puṣṭiṃ ca śrīpradaṃ ca yaśaskaram[।] sadeśaṃ mokṣakāmārthaṃ ndha[dha]nārthaṃ viṣṇupūjanam। durgā[ṃ] śatrujayārthaṃ ca vighneśaṃ putrakāmadaḥ[taḥ]nārthaṃ viṣṇupūjanam। durgā[ṃ] śatrujayārthaṃ ca vighneśaṃ putrakāmadaḥ[taḥ] [।] kāmyadaṃ skandapūjāṃ ca maheśaṃ mokṣadaṃ bhavet। etaṣāṃ pañcaberāṇāṃ pradhānaṃ tu maheśvaram। svatantraṃ paratantraṃ ca dvividham [।] grāme vā nagare vāpi pattane rājadhānike। kheṭake kubjake vāpi parvate ca manorame।
