saṃkocavidhi is a preliminary rite to the kumbhābhiṣeka ceremony.In this rite the kalā-s of the chief diety are drawn along with its retinue into pitcher by chanting so many mantra-s and performing many pūjā-s. This pitcher is worshiped on the pavilion till the kumbhābhiṣeka day
