AaLuṭaiya Teevanāyannār met the author and requested him to say the way, on which he could come across on worldly existance. Thereupon the author offered instuctions on the nature of self, śiva, mala, māyā and others in a nut-shell. These are given in 45 verses in this text, each containing within it the knowledge of the topics presented in a nut-shell. This is a speial kind of omposition in Tamil with verses in 3 lines, in which the word untīpara will be repeated in the 2nd and 3rd lines. Untīpara means a play by young girls. These verses are sung by young girls when they play. Such compositions are specially written to make even children understand and practice religion and other matters
