ācārya varṇapadakalāmantranyāsaṃ kṛtvā śivo'hamiti sambhāvy paramānandanimagno bhūtvā śiṣyāṇāṃ samayādidīkṣāṃ kuryāt। śiṣyān saṃvatsaraparyantaṃ śuśrūṣayā parīkṣitān śivapuṇyāpekṣayā prapañcavirāgyeṇa mumukṣutvena ca mandamandatarādīpradīprataraśaktinipātayuktān parijñāya tadanuguṇyena samayādidīkṣāṃ kuryāt।
