This text deals with the ritual called jātakarma which a man has to perform for the male child as soon as it is born. Incidentally, the process of doing it to the female child is also dealt with here

śrutvā kumāraṃ jātantu sacelassnānamācaret। āgatya tu gṛhaṃ paścāt jātakarma samācaret॥ jātaṃ kumāraṃ jātakarmaṇā saṃskariṣya iti saṃkalpya mṛtyuḥ prīyatāmiti puṇyāham। atha kumāramabhimantrayate। adbhyassambhūta ityanuvākena adbhyassambhūtaḥ pṛthivyai rasācca viśvakarmaṇassamavartādhi।
