Miscellaneous Notes

Four śloka-s are noticed on fol.149a: the 1st reads yatpādapadmamakarandajuṣāṃ narāṇāṃ saṃsāraghorabhujagānubhave sma bhītiḥ। etc. the 2nd śloka marks the benedictory stanza in the tattvasuddhā, the commentary of śaṃkara's dakṣiṇāmūrtyaṣṭaka by svayaṃprakāśayati, pupil of kaivalyānandayogin. The 3rd śloka is from the dakṣiṇāmūrtistotra, the last śloka forms part of svayaṃprakāśayati's commentary mentioned above. From this it appears that these śloka-s are intended to be recited before the reading of the dakṣināmūrtyaṣṭaka is undertaken, although they do not form part of the text. Towards the end of the fols. 150b-151 the following śloka is found : vaṭaviṭapisamīpe bhūmibhāge niṣaṇṇaṃ sakalamunijanānāṃ jñānadātāramārāt। tribhuvanagurumīśaṃ dakṣiṇāmūrtidaivam। jananamaraṇaduḥkhacchedadakṣaṃ namāmi॥ cidghanāya maheśāya gurave buddhisākṣiṇe। oṃkāravācyarūpāya śrīdakṣiṇāmūrtaye namaḥ॥ śrīgurubhyonamaḥ॥ hariḥ oṃ । śubhamastu॥ These 2 śloka-s perhaps intended to be recited after the main stotra is read out. The śloka-s are not correctly numbered
