This text deals with the 3 categories of śaivism, namely pati, paśu and pāśa. Except for a few verses here and there, the text is in prose. The exact source of this text is not known but this matter is treated in all the vidyāpāda-s of the śaivāgama-s; however the number of padārtha-s may vary from 3-7 (see mataṅgapārameśvarāgama, IFI. Pub. no. 56, pp. XVIII-XIX and XLVI-XLVII)
