Miscellaneous Notes

This text consists of 2 chapters called ānandapariccheda and śivasamatāpariccheda. In the former the author disucsses the meaning of the word śivānanda. The concept of samarasībhāva, equality in enjoying bliss which is dealt with in the prāsādacandrikā, gets detailed discussion in the 2nd chapter. 7 kinds of mokṣa are mentioned in this chapter (fol. 102b). The work begins with prayers and salutations adrssed to deities and to sadyojyoti protogonist of the dualistic śaivasiddhānta of Kashmir (c. 900 A.D.) and pupil of ugrajyoti and rāmakaṇṭha, son of nārāyaṇkaṇṭha (11th century A.D.) of Kashmir. Profouse citations are found in this Ms. from a large number of works. Among āgama works pauṣkara, sarvajñānottara and mṛgendra are frequently cited, having 13, 7 and 8 references. Other āgama-s that are cited less frequently cited less frequently are the vātula, cintya, kiraṇa, devīkālottara, mataṅga, svāyambhuva, cintyaviśasādākhya, parākhya, niśvāsa, kāmika, suprabheda, svacchanda, raurava, kālottara, triśatīkālottara, lalitabheda, dviśatīkālottara and mohaśūrottara. This work siddhāntaśikhāmaṇi is different from the work with the same name whose author was revaṇārādhya. From the introductory verses and the concluding portion it seems that this is complete. At the end the date of the Ms. is given as pramodūta year, Māśi month, second day, saturday
