This text deals with the worship of pālikā. Pālikā is a small cup made of mud and filled with soil in which grains of various kinds are ritually sown at the commencement of the festival or dīkṣā. These cups are watered twice daily and by the conclusion of the festival these seeds germinate. The number of cups varies from 1 to 16

Manuscript Beginning

dīkṣotsavādikāryeṣu ṣoḍaśaṃ tu vidhīyate। ṣoḍaśasyāṣṭasūtrāṇi mahdye navapadaṃ vrajet। catur dvāreṣu ca dve cā[ca] śeṣa[ṃ] pūrvavad ācaret। pālikā ghaṭikā vedā śarāvāṣṭakam eva ca।

oṃ hāṃ sāvitryādhipataye 'sarvāya namaḥ। oṃ hām indrāya namaḥ। oṃ hām indrādhipataye brahmaṇe namaḥ। oṃ hāṃ rudrāya namaḥ। oṃ hāṃ rudrādhipataye namaḥ। oṃ hām ātmabhūmne namaḥ। iti caṣpā[catuṣpā?]likāyāṃ sampūjya। hariḥ om। ekapālikāsthāpanaṃ vidhāyā[ya] sthaṇḍilapadmamadhye karṇikāyāṃ somakumbbha[ṃ] sthāpya। pālikāyām ādityāya namaḥ। ādityādhipataye bhavāya namaḥ।
