Miscellaneous Notes
Umāyāmala, of which the installation of the image of bhadrakālī forms a part, is one among many yāmala texts, such as skanda (see 118.18), rudra, brahmā, viṣṇu, yama, Indra and others. The subject contained in the text agrees with IFI.T. 953, pp. 67-74, fols. 135a-137 are the same as the passages in pp.67-73, the remaining portion is not traceble to IFI.T. 953. The last two śloka-s in the text are found in continuation of 1.11(of p.73 of IFI.T.953). The further passages in IFI.T.953 are not found in the text. The colophon in IFI.T.953, p. 74 refers to the source for this subject as the umāyāmala

athātassampravakṣyāmi bhadrakālīpratiṣṭhām। grāme vā nagare vāpi pattane rājadhānike॥ gaṅgātīre tathā vakṣye parvate devālaye tathā। nagare catvare caiva ramye sthāpanamācaret॥ ekaberañca kartavyaṃ kālīnāñca tathaiva ca। lohaje śailaje caiva tāmrake mṛṇmaye tathā॥

oṃ śrīm hrīṃ astrāya phaṭ। svarūpamātmanā vicintya viśeṣārghyaṃ mūlena saṃkalpya। tulasībilvākṣatān saṃsthāpya padmapuṣpeṇa bilvakaṃ saṃgṛhya beramādhāraśilopari oṃ śrīṃ ādhārakartavyaṃ pāraśaivān samarcayet। jalāśaye'pi coddhṛtya snānañcaiva tu pūjayet। pañcagavyasamāyuktaṃ pañcāmṛtamihocyate। divyavastraiśca saṃveṣṭya sarvābharaṇabhūṣitam। bhadrakālyāśca vastraṃ syāttrikoṇe pañcakoṇe॥
