This text deals with śānti to be undertaken when death occurs in the dhaniṣṭhā constellation. Four more constellations śatabhiṣak, pūrvaproṣṭhapada and revatī are also included in this group. At the end it is said that bodhāyana's treatment of this topic is given here. For Mss. see NCC IX. pp. 223-224

hariḥ om। athāto dhaniṣṭhāpañcakaśāntiṃ vyākhyāsyāmaḥ। dhaniṣṭhādīpañ carkṣe gaṇḍānte vā yasmin yasmin gṛho śvātīpate ta dra tu (?) mantarā tat grahādhipatiṃ lokan nayati। athavā tat gṛhaśrīm api prajāṃ vā jahyāt। tadaghanivṛttyai tasyaikādaśāhne vā trayodaśāhne vā namāsamativartayan śāntiṃ kurvīta।

atra viṣaye kāṃsyadānam avaśyamuktaṃ bhārdadvājen brahmaṇā nirmitan tejaḥ kāṃsyam āyur vivardhanaṃ। brāhmaṇāya dadāmyetadāśu doṣo vyapohatu। paścāt bandhubhis saha brāhmaṇān bhojayed āśīrvādaṃ kuryāt। ityāha bhagavān bodhāyanaḥ॥ hariḥ oṃ॥
